Installing new door seals
I thought Id post this in hopes of helping out anyone who needs to install new door seals. It may not be a very good tutorial but I tried to take pix as I installed my own.
I got my seals from LMC lmctruck.com and while thier not exactly like the OEM ones Im sure they will work just fine.
Tools needed before you start:
1) A pair of gloves
2) Some kind of cleaner and a clean wet rag.
3) 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive (My choice) Old timers may call this stuff "Yellow Dog" or "Gorilla Snot"
Tips/Tricks I learned while doing this:
1) Weatherstrip Adhesive is VERY messy! Its stringy, sticky, and just one stray dollop will get all over every thing. Keep your wet rag and cleaner handy to clean up any stray adhesive BEFORE it dries.
2) Dont try to do the entire door opening all at once. Just do like a 3 foot section and wait for it to get realy tacky before you stick more of the weatherstrip up. Its easier to controll the weaterstrip that way and form it to the contours of the cab door opening.
3) Dont worry about sticking the inside lip of the weatherstrip untill after its completly installed and the door is shut. You can do that from the inside of the truck and take your time doing it. This will help you make it follow the seam better and eliminate bubbles or bunched up areas around the curves.
4) (The most important tip I can give!) DONT RUSH! Take your time. It takes several minutes for the adhesive to tack-up and you dont wanna try sticking more weaterstrip up before it its ready. It will fall down and make a BIG mess.

Cool, here's another tip. The weather strip can act like a balloon. It should have holes to let the air escape when shutting the door. If not make some 1/8 holes about every 10 inches. It took my DC weatherstrip one year to break in to not have to slam the door.

When you get the seals, they are not open on one side. They are just two loops.
You have to tear open one loop to be able to fit them over the lip of the cab door frame. Its not hard. Just determin which loop needs to be split and run your thumb down one loop to tear it open.
Always test fit the seals before you even open the adhesive.
Start at the bottom of the door about in the middle of the door opening on the floor board. After you go all the way around the door, you should have a little bit of overlap on the seals ends. This will be cut off but wait till thier completely glued in before doing that.

The trick is putting enough adhesive on to properly glue the door seal on without putting so much on that it ooses out and makes a big mess.

re: Installing new door seals
Thanks sharkdance. I am hoping to get to mine this weekend. I pulled an old one off 2 weeks ago and never got around to finishing. Now I am thinking about painting the interior before I glue them up. It was getting late and I was finishing up in the garage installing my other goodies. I left the seals for last when I decided to pull one off to test fit a new one. It has been raining ever since. Can't drive in the rain with no seals! Your tutorial helped a bunch. Wish me luck.
How were the LMC seals, by the way? That is where I got mine.

re: Installing new door seals
Your welcome guys. Glad I could help.
When I did mine I thought to myself, wouldnt it be cool if I saw pix of someone else doing this first? So I took pix.
Fake Name,
You might be right. I never looked at the directions.
But I can say, that stuff will stick to anything it touches.
