Happy as a tornado in a trailer park
I got me a 1969 F250 Camper Special!
I had seen it sitting with a for sale sign in the window at the north end of the 27th st. viaduct for over a month. I had stopped once and asked what the owner wanted for it, was told $1500. That would have been an okay price, and I was hoping it would still be there when I had the money.
I stopped yesterday because the owner had a price posted on the windshield I could afford. I told him I could give hime half on Thursday and half on Friday when I got paid. he said he would hold it for me till Friday, and would be in at noon. It was 12:00 exactly by my watch when I opened the door to his business.
I got the truck for $900. Paid cash, it's all MINE!!!
can clean that up. As you can see it needs a new passenger door, but there's a perfect door in the bed, even has the right trim on it!
It has a 360, but I'm going to pull the 390 out of the F100 and rebuild it, and set it up for AC when I do. The engine in the truck has the left exhaust manifold for the AC compressor support brackets, too.
I plan to scavenge parts off the F100 and use what I can on the F250, then sell off what I didn't use.
I'm happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AWSOME!! Congrats!!
Keep us updated as you make your upgrades. But it already looks like a good truck to start with.

Congrats John! To be honest with you, even though you've put some work into your old truck, I'm glad to see that you've got something in a little better shape....and that one looks good! And a Ranger, even. You done good!
Incidentally, that door jamb bracket you were wondering about is for the dome light switch. You've got the bracket, but the button switch is missing.

Nice score!!! Good luck with the build.
Thankfully the tool box door didn't get damaged when he hit the tree! It looks like it closes nice and straight too!

re: Happy as a tornado in a trailer park
Thanks, all!
Yea, that is an AZ plate. Very little rust on the truck, and that's just surface rust. I can clean that up, and paint it.
Keith, I thought maybe that bracket was for a dome light switch, but wasn't sure.
I'm going to enjoy this truck, that's fer sure!
