Thuoghts anyone?

Post by rjack11 »

I was wondering if anyone has some insight with this? I have a 1967 F-100 SWB Ranger with a 302 and 3 on-a-tree. I also have a 1969 Galaxie 500 with a FE390 and FMX 3 speed auto. I use the 500 as a daily driver and truck is under restore. I keep thinking that it would be cool to part the 500 for the truck. Then i think it would cool to fix up the 500 too so I would have them both. Just wasted some thoughts or ideas. Thanks

I you parted out the Galaxie for the truck, what would you drive until the truck was done?

If you would rather drive the truck as a daily driver instead of the 500 Id say do it.
I know Id get more use out of a truck than a car. But I understand the desire to fix the 500.
You would have to be willing to allow the 500 to sit in the shadows for a while to complete the truck first or else you may have a problem finishing both at the same time.

If the 500 is a 2door and in any type of decent shape, I'd sell it. They tend to pull enough that you could buy a decent fe block and trans set up, and not destroy a classic car. If it's a 4 door, that tends to change things, since the value isn't quite up there.
Bumpless for now...

Thanks for the feedback. Just kicking around some ideas. I think selling the car is the route to go. :)

rjack11,
Man, keep both of them. That 69 Galaxy is one sweet car...and you cannot ever beat the 67-72 Ford truck! I vote "Keep them Both!"

 You know, today I was at the shop and taking a smoke break, and got to eyeballing my '67 442 in the shop (it's currently off the frame) and the '69 4x4 out front....thinking the same thing. Man, the Olds freaks would skin me alive!!! Especially putting it on a Ford chassis to boot.

Keith, sometimes you scare me.

Soi what keeps the 442 off the frame?
