I was doing some investigation on radio fitment for my 68 F100 and now realize that I do not know how to even remove th factory radio.
With the posts protruding through the metal dash mounting ears which also block the radio opening, I'm not sure if I need to dig my way to it through the factory A/C unit, through the gauge/instrument cluster, or through the dash pad.......help!?!

If you can get the glovebox out, that's the best way.

re: Radio removal
If your A/C is the factory suitcase style, the one that extends up into the glovebox area, you probably still won't have room even after removing the glovebox insert. You'd probably be better off by pulling the instrument panel out and removing the radio through that hole in the dash.

You will have enough room with the glovebox out and the factory a/c there. I've done it.FORDification wrote:If your A/C is the factory suitcase style, the one that extends up into the glovebox area, you probably still won't have room even after removing the glovebox insert.
