New Brazilian info sheet for '70 F100 posted

I got my hands on a two-sided information sheet for the 1970 Brazilian F100. This sheet has been added to the Factory Lit & Advertising page, via the following link:

Anyone here any good at accurately translating Portuguese? The online translators are worthless for this. I don't want to just get the gist of what's been said, I want an accurate word-by-word translation. If anyone can help out, please let me know.

But how do you know it's a '70? Their models lagged ours by a number of years. Plus it has the 2.3L Lima engine which wasn't into production until '74. That same engine was later manufactured in Brazil btw.

Hmmm....yes, you're right. I guess I don't know for sure, other than going by how the info sheet was advertised for sale...and of course the grille, but as you stated that's not necessarily a good indicator for the Brazilian trucks....and there's no date mentioned on the sheet. Oh well. I had to classify it somehow, and until I can get some other info I'll just use 1970 as the print date. However, I think I will add a little disclaimer on that page stating that it might not be for the '70 models.

Good deal! Earliest it could be is '74 because the 2.3L didn't exist before that.

A 4-cyl F-100?
Damn it must barely move even with the 5.38 gears.
It may not be a Lima 4-cyl but something with just the same displacement. Ford makes a 2.3 currently that is not a Lima engine.

Yes, but it has the same bore and stroke and is in the right time frame of the mid-'70s.

It's an export version with the low 7.8:1 cr. Thing I don't understand is the high hp and torque figures. Doing a conversion says 97.6 hp and 122 torque.

For comparison, the '75 domestic version had 8.2:1 cr and put out 87 hp with 114 torque. Even the '76 version with 9.0:1 cr only put out 92 hp with 121 torque.

The 2.3L HSC was introduced in 1984 Tempo/Topaz models.
There is no way an old truck like that would have that new an engine from the factory.
We're talking about the Euro design

Whoa...
Actually, I was refering to the Block.
I owned an 85 MERCURY Toe-spaz and I'm pretty familiar with that 2.3L HSC.
That Block was concieved from their "Small Block" Inline 6. They pretty much just cut the last 2 cylinders off!

It wouldn't be unorthodox to assume that possibility.
Both FORD and Chevy did just that to their "small Block"V8's to achieve their 3.8L V6's.
I'm not sure if Buick did the same thing w/their 231 though.

The Ford 3.8 is not based on the small block Fords at all.
