re: Pics of progress
The front cab mounts up in the same location that the car body mounted, and I'm using the cars radiator support and bolting the fenders and grill to it. I will have to make a crossmember to mount the back of the cab and drill new holes in the bed to mount it but thats no big deal.

I'm really happy with them. I bought them before I made the decision to use the cv frame and was going to use adapters. Since I am using the car frame, they fit perfectly. Bonus. Plus I got em CHEEEEEP! Double bonus.marz68 wrote:those wheels are cool we got a set of 22's for a 2004 f150 that we are building for Truckn magazine.

I'll be using all the electronics/steering wheel/ac/brake pedal/throttle pedal etc. from the vic. Basically its a vic with a truck body. The suspension is coils all around. I could possibly pull the coils out and put in bags and drop it on the ground. Something I'll think about after it's running again and the paint is on since it'll be a simple swap.

thats exactly why im asking so many questions haha. Im thinkin about finding a wrecked one, and just using the frame and steering if possible. You think it would be possible to figure out the power steering/brakes without the computer? Oh, and if you want to talk in PM's instead thats fine, just let me know.

Frame and PS on this model isn't connected to the computer in any way. The engine and tranny are the only things computerized on a 93. If you get a newer one say 96 and up with the OBD II the brakes are in the system, but that can be bypassed easily.

look into trailor fenders for this, you can weld them up and then follow that contour with some 18g sheet metal or the like. bracing in there as well.SmokeyBear wrote:Yeah the bed floor will have to make way. I'm thinking of putting the tank up front near the cab and making one step up from the back of the wheel tub to the front of the bed.Clarko wrote:The only issue I can see is where the framerails buck up over the rear axle. Are you gonna clearance the bed there, or what?

The way I understand it is that the Panther chassis itself hasn't changed since 79. They used to use 302s and 351Ws so it'll work.layedout72 wrote:i would want to use the motor I have, with the tranny I have as well. This looks to be the way to go for me. You said this was a 4.6, so I bet I could just make some new mounts for my 302. I may have some questions for you, but your deffinately building a bad ass truck!
