I have to change the right rear axle seal. I have the removable carrier Ford 9" rear end. Any tips? suggestions? special tools needed to make life easier?
Get one of these...about $10-$12 at any parts store. It'll make removal a breeze.

morg, you get some grease on the brake shoes and have to do a panic stop in the rain then find yourself sideways, narrowly missing (maybe) other cars and a pole as you hit the curb sideways and bend 2 rims. Ask me how I know.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.
I have a seal puller like the one pictured above already, but when I went to the store to get the new seal it was a seal/bearing. Will that remove it or do I need a dif. puller?
If you are good with a torch you can cut the old one off and then use a piece of pipe to drive the new one on. Otherwise just take it to someone who has a press.
Make sure you get all the pieces one first before you press on the new bearing. It is a bummer lo get it all together and you forgot the flange. Ask me how I know.

Oh, you're talking about the outer flange seal and not the inner seal. OK, never mind. Do as willowbilly suggests and just take it to the local machine shop and have them do it for you, unless you have access to a press.
