2 spd. aux.
Has anyone ever heard of or know anything about the Waner(?) auxilary transmissions? A guy I know has 4 of them and I am thinking of putting 1 in 1 of my trucks. He said they came out of 80's era 1 tons. Thanks,Doug.

Haven't seen too many pickups with splitters installed, there isn't a whole lot of room for it. I owned a couple of 1940's 3 speed boxes, believe they were spicer, that were small enough to fit in a pickup, but they were under-under units. Gave them to a friend who still hasn't done anything with them.

Waner? No. Ranger? Yes. Rangers are under/overdrive units that fit between the engine and transmission. Can get 6 speeds out of a 3 speed trans. Supposed to be very good. Bad thing about them, all linkage, crossmembers, and driveshafts have to be moved or modified in order to fit.

That would make it pretty much theft proof.
