Turn signal and Brake light help needed wiring at colum?

Ok first it lloks like the factory harness was butchered it was put on a aftermarket swithc. I can now not get the harness figured out becuase the dang po had it wired like a chevy or big rig.



So first i guess i need to return it to factory harness and then swap over to 78 f250 w/cruise control harness. Not sure on exact colors becuase someone here was discussing only Non cruise control swaps.

Might i also mention i'm iliterate when it comes to the diagram. unless I can see the exact wire.

I need to know both what wires all tie together for the turn and brake light switch on the dash side of the harness for a 72 f100.

Then what wires are what in a 77 or 78 f250 with cruise control as fiore as stop turn are concerned. on the column end and if there is or isn't a comon ground wire on the newer column.

i have a personal dislike for wiring hackers.
comes from too many years of repairing the spaghetti mess left by them.

i can only fix something like that with my test light and eyes to see the wires.
i can tell you the wires
horn, blue w yellow stripe
brake, red
front turn lt. green w white and lt. blue w white stripe
rear turn yellow and green

the side that sits under the dash. Those are the 72 wires. But i'm wondering how to get them to work with the 77 or 78 Steering colum.

also if the 73-79 colum Cruise control or not has to have two wires for the horn? like an extra ground?

robert i'm going to bring some of my columns in the house tonight and take them apart. i'll see what i can do to help you figure this out. i do have a 50 column aprt already i might be able to just give you a pic of it and see if that will help you too.

cool thanks Craig. And everybody just seams no one who has done a 73-79 column in a 72 Has any specific info on the differences just that they know that a 73-79 with cruise has different color codes with cruise verses non cruise columns.

heres what i have so far this is a non cruise column. if i remeber right it came from a 80 or 81 truck. it has yellow and blue for the horn. it has two horn buttons that go to the wheel and horn button the other wires. give me a few mninutes to figure the rest. i ned to figure this out for my 67 too. it has a 73-79 column in it too. that the plug was cut off. here are some quick pics.

ok. I'm wondering also does all of the wiring(both turn wires/ground/horn/and brake/emergency) Have to be wired up to get the turns and 4 ways to work?

you dont have to use the hazard switch from the column if you have one in the truck already. i was unable to find out any more last night i wil try again later.

ok cool. seems like there is more wires in the 77 than in the 72.
