STICKY: Best mods or upgrades you have done to your bump?

Post by heep70 »

This thread is to list the best modifications or upgrades you have done to your bump. This thread will bring up old and new creations for newbes and others to see. I like reading about them anyway

If you have any out of the ordinary one(s) list them too.

If someone has an interest in one or more of these things please do not post a question. Contact the poster by PM or email. Thanks.

My best mod or upgrade was :hmm: Man I have many on my heep.

I guess I really like the delayed wipers here in the drizzly WA state.

Power steering on the Highboy.

One wire alt.

I will stop there and save room for you folks.

I will make a sticky here for awhile. Maybe this list can be simplified and placed somewhere were others that need ideas can veiw it and contact the person that did it or directed to the tech article. I will see where this goes and in time discuss it with Keith.

This is a great thread idea Heep.

My best upgrades would be new door seals and a firewall insulator.

Soon to be 390nut's upgraded harness. And the half installed 73-77 Cruise control Column with lightup Gear selector.

And of course go performance dual exhaust with Headman Headers. And iether Cherry bombs or 40 series Flows.

These are either half installed or future developments. Since i don't have my first bump no more i'll leave it at that.

getting a 4x4... its not done yet but I think one of the best mods will be the new 121" wheelbase, and the tube bed!

Bigger rims and tires and the pertronix ignition ignitor. Lots of other plans too. Cant wait for 390's new headlight harness.

So far the wiper delay, the 4Bbl carb (I have a 240), the Taurus dash cluster, bench seat from a 88 Cheby truck, the addition of chrome, self made one-wire delco alt.

The best upgrade I made to the '68 F100 was replacing it with the '69 F250CS!!!

the 3 best ones on my 66 are the headlight relays, the dual master cylinder and the bucket seats. i also added led taillights and a backup lights with a switch and a cargo light.

the worst one i did and since removed was auto locking hubs. one of the clips inside broke and trashed out a wheel bearing.the manual hubs are much better, i never had any issues with them before.

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

I have to agree with Skytoucher, so far it's the Pertronix ignition. I'm looking forward to getting it back on the road with the power disc brakes though.I'm sure that will be my favorite.
