I have a C6 I will be putting in to my 67 to replace the original MX tranny.
The original speedo cable has a shaft and threaded cap at the tranny end.
The C6 just has a hole where the speedo cable connects to.
Is the C6 missing an adapter/gear that plugs in to the C6 and has threads on the other end to accept the speedo cable?
Do I need a new cable w/ different end? Help...
C6 speedo cable/gear..Help!

Sounds like the transmission's speedometer drive is simply missing.

OK, Thanks..I'll see where I can get one from.
Maybe a tranny shop, salvage yard, or ford dealer? I can't seem to find anything on the web.
Also, it seems I'll need a gear wheel that goes in this speedo drive housing. Do I just ask for one for a 3.54 Dana rear end which is what I have?

I'd imagine you could get the speedo drive at any of the places you suggested. And like you stated, the speedo drive has a removable plastic gear on it, and the number of teeth on the gear varies, depending on what your final drive ratio and overall tire height is, so that the speedometer will be accurate. I'm afraid you'll have to get some input from someone other than me with help in determining just what gear you need though.

some have the gear that clips on the end of the speedo cable. There would be a clip and 1/4" bolt that attaches them to tranny.
