This part is probably not something very many of you have seen before....except here on FORDification, in my project update pages. I pictured this a while back, though this shot is from a different angle.

Very few bumpsides had these, as they were only for use with a specific option. What is the part, where is it used and what option was it used with?

a bolt on skid plate or splash guard of some sort.

It is for the behind the seat stowage compartment. Now I'm gonna guess that it helps to mount the box in the truck Now I can get a good nights sleep.

Dang it 4x4x4,You beat me to it!I have the tool box in my truck also.

The bolts for the rear cab mounts goes through it and the box bolts to the small stud.

Well, at least it took a couple hours for you guys to get this one. Yes, this is the rear cab hold-down plate for trucks with the behind-the-seat storage compartment. There are two holes drilled into the bottom of the storage compartment that are a hair smaller than the diameter of the acorn nut on this plate, and the compartment sets down on these acorn nuts.

I think I'm gonna call two winners on this one. ezernut9mm kinda called it...I suppose you might loosely call this a clamp, though it was 4x4x4crewcab who positively identified it, so they get to share this one.
