Heres a pic of the start of my new work area. It will be nice to work out of the rain once in a while let alone have a place to store tools and parts.

That almost looks like my wall tent. I've got a 16x20 foot tent with an internal frame ( 1" conduit ). I was thinking about setting it up and getting started on some body work, but the wife threatened to move me out there if I did. Sounded like a good idea at the time.

I bought one of those, put it up and the next day the wind totally destroyed it, even had it anchored to the ground, won't waste money there again.

Hey bigman, That looks like a good idea, Like Fourtss said watch out for the wind.

BTW How far are you from The Air Museum? Been there once in 98 or 99 with the J.R.O.T.C.

Hopefully the wind doesnt destroy it, we dont get very high winds usually. Funny you mention the air museum becasue I can see it from my front porch. (see pic)

Yeah i remember they have an actualy working(fully even the Electronic/electrical dampening feild.)Jet of some sort think it was an older f16 or f15 or 14 but it had the dampening system and the engines still ran/run they got it through a loop hole. But i thinkl the military came in and disabled/took back the device.

they also had either the actual red baron plane or a realy good replica.

I loved the gift shop lots of gfood hard to find airplane Models.

They had a replica of some plane (forget the name) but it was all metallic a year or so ago.

Cool. Yeah when i was there it was 98 or 99. Feild trip with the Cave junction/Illinois Valley High School A.F.J.R.O.T.C. OR 941.

Was an awesome trip. But getting back on topic let us know how that thing works as a garage.

If it works i might try it this spring/summer.

I have a Costco 12x20 set up as a boat storage right now. Up a month and the wind tipped it over and bent 2 of the poles. Still works tho!

My wife's company delivers to the Cottage Grove Wally World. Small world.

Ever been to the Spruce Goose Museum in McMinnville, OR? Thats a BIG airplane!

Maybe get some shed anchors to hold it down. I put some on my shed at the house and it has survived 2 monsoon seasons.

Never been to Mcminville but ive seen shows on the plane. For the garage I think im going to tie it down and im also going to get some 4x8 sheets of insulation to insulate with and it will be pretty cool Its amazing how much cleaner your yard gets when you have somewhere to put stuff. Ive got my other set of tires, two gas tanks, a trailer and a riding lawnmower all behind or beside it.

Man, seeing that tent reminds me that I'd like to find an old Army Maintenance tent form the surplus sales. Those things are the thick canvas treated with some serious water-proofing. They are metal framed, dome like tents that are approximately 50 feet long by about 40 feet wide. They are perfect for a semi-permanent structure. They have the capablity of being secured to the ground by stakes and you can mount lights, heaters, etc. in them.

I'll check out the government sites to see if I can find a picture/ exact description of them.

We got a older lady that lives just down the street from us that has one like a carport. Until the ice storm came in . The ice brought it down on top of her caddy. Now its disassembled in her front yard.
