Hmm had 20x24 and worked in the driveway bought a house w/ 21x40 and still work in the driveway, no matter what size you'll grow your self out of it.

re: Minimum size shop?
I built a 24x32 before I was laid off to use as a woodworking shop.
When I need to work on a truck I roll my machines to the outside walls.
I currently have a 64 Falcon in there and can still SQUEEZE my 71 F100 in there and work but it is tight.
I have too much stuff, machines and parts in there but it still is usable.
I could'nt imagine having anything less.
I am thinking of adding a lean-to on the 32' side sometime soon. Maybe about 12 more foot. That would help ALOT

We are building a 28 by 30 right now and it appears we will have enough room to work on our cars fairly easily. But we havent moved anything into it yet so who knows.

4 car garage here with (2) double doors. (2) running vehicles and one motorcycle in one side (2) running vehicles outside and the 67' takes the other (2) stalls on the other side.... NOT ENOUGH ROOM. will be building a 40x25 with (2) 12' wide 10' high doors and that should work.

In the end whatever size you decide add 30% then you'll be good for a few months

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

re: Minimum size shop?
I would like to have a 40x60 foot shop. From looking at other peoples shops and garages, this is about right, for me at least. The problem is the land values around here are outragous. This area has always been
a "boom-bust" place. I'm trying to wait until land prices come down alittle, I'm too tight-a**ed to pay what they're wanting!
