Well just thought if you were going with a serpintine setup I've got an aluminium water pump and a set of aluminium valve covers that with alittle work would polish up real nice . I'd make you a deal on the package .

how much would serpentine pulleys set me back? I dont have power steering right now. Hope to have it when I do the new frame but may skip the steering to get a more clean look in the engine bay.

Well the water pump has the pulley I will throw in the pulley for the alternator. I have the entire serp setup including power steering pump. I can't think at the moment but other than alternator, water pump and idler what else would be required. Let me drag them out tomorrow and see what if anything that I'm missing . I'll take pictures if I can . Let me know of any bracketry you can think of .
I know the water pump alone is $250.00-$275.00 new and this pump has I would venture to say less than 5k miles on it .Here is a picture of water pump and valve covers still on motor when I brought it home .http://www.fordification.com/galleries/ ... p?pos=-709
If your interested in this style valve cover let me know

im diggin those valve covers, but I would have to cut down the filler tube for sure. All I have pulley wise is, alt/crank/water pump i believe. That is stock though. I don't kno what the serpentine setup would require. Only brackets I have are alternator brackets. If anything, just let me know how much you want for the valve covers.

well, just got done spraying the firewall. its not perfect, but its far better than it was before!! had some gun trouble more than anything I think. It would spit a little at times and make it run a little, but it's not TERRIBLE by any means.

photos are upping now.

Looks great! I can imagine how much work it was getting that firewall clean.

it took forever, and its not perfect still. It is good enough for me as I plan on having all the metal work on the cab done inside and out so I know it's solid. I may do it, but the more technical shaping work will be in the hands of someone else. Firewall, will PROBABLY get cut out and shaved flat at that point. When it gets to that point, the truck won't be anything like it is now though.

I am about to talk to my mom and dad about fronting me a little money to buy my parts for the motor. Just waiting on my government tax return...I am also picking up some pinstriping stuff. 2 pints of 1-shot paint, 2 new brushes, and high temp reducer. should make for some fun coming up here soon!

Keep up the great work LO72! Doing this project is a lot like going to college. After your sophomore year, you feel like like you've been through hell for an eternity and no end in site. But persevere and you eventually get through it.

I hope to get started on my own project truck soon and my hat is off to all of you that have taken the plunge and posting your progress. Getting some great tips!

bought mine for 800, have 1400 in the motor and still need about 500 in parts for it to run real good. (electronics and crap) not to mention brakes and stuff like wiring. they are expensive, but damn fun to mess with

Well, got the dizzy in, everything is TDC and lined up right, so its time to move on. Just had a donation to the "Grant needs a water pump" foundation. Good grades pull through yet again! So, got me a duralast stock replacement. I love the finish on it too! Natural.....but like a smoke color. Not your typical nasty silver looking piece.

I need to locate some bolts for it, as I don't believe I have my stock ones, well...I do, but I think I am missing some. Anyone have some?
