I guess the biggest hurdle is getting the correct bellhousing with the T5 bolt pattern and figuring out how to fab the cable clutch setup. I don't know it the T18-T19 granny four speeds are correct or not. The T5 is different than the 3 and 4 speed toploaders style trannies.

Please take lots of pics and notes. I'll bet this gets alot more popular/attractive for those of us who are hanging on to using our trucks daily/often. Any chance you're replacing an automatic?

My father in-law just swapped a T5 on to a 302 in his '56 F100. He replaced a C6. The clutch was a little trial and error but wasn't that bad. He went with the cable style. He had to make minor adjustments along the way to make pedal easier, but it didn't take long to straighten out. No mods needed on his drive shaft either. Now he's slammin' gears!
I have a four speed 'Stang tranny available for free. I have been thinking about a swap myself.

I would not put a T-5 behind an FE, unless to buy the aftermarket one that can take 500hp...but then you kind of throw out the cost effective part. :o

That pretty nice Dan, where did the adapter plate come from. not sure about the grade 5 bolt holding the trans to bell housing. 1 more question for ya is the shifter going to clear the seat.

Adaptor came from ModernDriveLine. It is the Toploader to T-5 one.

As for the Grade 5 bolts. The housing and adapter are Al, so I think those will brake long befoe the bolts do.

The shifter is going to need a little Z-peice to move it forward. more to come on this.

(I will document this all on my website soon.)
