What's the consensus on the T-5 versus the M5R2?

I was kinda under the impression the M5R2 was the tougher piece as Ford used it as an upgrade from the T-5 in the T-bird SC.

Also, I haven't actually done this, but I build atleast 4 M5R1's/R2's a week and the shift towers look like they'll swap with some simple mods. The Ranger M5R1 shift tower is in the rear like a T-5 and uses a short throw shifter. It looks like a guy could take an M5R1 top shift plate and install M5R2 forks in it to get a short shifting close ratio 5 speed that bolts up to a 300 no problem.

Points 11 & 12 on the install.

I got the tags on her today and she drives great! First is low, good for when I have a load. ANd at 70mph I am sitting at a cool 1900rpm (assuming my speedo is right)
