Fired her up last night @ 2.a.m.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Started up on the second try.
Ran her @ 2000 rpm for 20 minutes, shut her down, changed the oil and filter, and fired her back up again! Man, does she sound good! Still gotta get the Edelbrock carb fine-tuned, but running good right out of the box as advertised. Still gonna play with the timing some as well. Will post some pics when I drive it over to the new house on Sunday !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D          :fr:

Yes, especially considering I had never torn one down this far before. My wife doesn't understand this, but some of you guys will-this partial rebuild is, at least to me, a validation of my ability as a mechanic. To be able to tear an engine down to the block, replace cam/lifters/timing set/get heads rebuilt/replace 2bbl manifold and carb with 4bbl/replace starter and all cables..... put it all back together......and get it to start right up with no leaks so far.....how many people except guys like us would even attempt to do it? My brother doesn't even change his own oil or plugs!!!!!
