Will this tranny fit??

Post by White1970f-100 »

I was wanting to buy a parts truck off a friend of mine to steal parts off to use for my '70 f-100, but his truck has a 351 modified 400 with a c6 tranny. Would this tranny bolt up to my fe 390?

The 351m has a different bellhousing bolt pattern than the fe, the fe has a round bell and the m has octogon shape.
The 351m does have the same bellhousing as the 460 though.

385 series (429 460) and 351m 400 share a bolt pattern but different flex plates and torque converters all fe'e take their own bell housing and 90 degree small blocks (302 289) 351 cleavland and 351 windsor take a different bellhousing
