Well I got to meet another member from the forum. Two weeks ago I went and got some parts off of Ladz. Lemme tell you, he is a hell of a guy. One of the nicest people to deal with. He hooked me up with a short bed, bumper, front coils, back window, inner fender, lower valance and some quarter glass, and a tailgate. It seemed the longer we talked the more he added to my pile! I got to say that truck of thiers is absolutely beautiful! Sounds great to. I was very green with envy after being seeing it. They put alot of time in that bump and it shows.. Thanks again Ladz!

here is the bed I got from Ladz . I couldnt wait to stick it on the truck. I figured between the both beds I can get one really nice one.

Most of the bad spots on this bed are really good spots on mine. so I think I am ahead of the game now!

well today I managed to get a few hours to work on the truck. I was hoping to get the engine pulled but that fell through, so I decided to do alittle work on the body. The bed I bought from Ladz was in pretty decent shape, it just needed to get most of the surface rust sanded down so I started on that and put a coat of primer on. Then I moved to the passenger side door and cab and kept sanding away. This truck must have been painted red 4 times. I kept taking layer after layer off with my little porta cable sander and about 75 sheets of sandpaper, and this is all I got done!

While I was waiting to see if I was going to get the engine hoist today,I was checking out all the bolts ,spraying down a few to make sure I didnt snap any. Some of you might have seen my post about the 460 that the previous owner stuck in my truck. It came out of a 77 lincoln so he said. The stands are what looks to be 2 sets welded together on each side, and the engine is sitting high in the front and crooked. Well today I found another wonderful patch job the P.O. did. The 460 has of course the wrong pan, but being as this guy musta watched all of the car and bike shows on tv he thought he was a master builder and could make it work. So instead of breaking down and taking a trip to the junk yard he made the stands high enough so the front sump pan would work. "Uhoh..forgot about changing the oil!.hm no problem lets cut a big hole in the crossmember..that will do it..man I should have my own tv show."
Someone should smack that guy upside his head..well anyway heres the pictures of the butchered crossmember.

I'm sure the chain was for the motor torqueing over.

I'm usually all for working with what you have, but wow. What a joke that setup is. If the 460 runs, I would keep it. Has it been rebuilt or is it a stock 460? The 72 and up 460s were dogs but some easy things can be done to get it RUNNING. Up the compression (9.0- 9.5), put in a better cam, new non-retarded timing gears/chain, and a decent intake and carb. That will give you plenty of power for that short bed. If you want it to be crazy fast, just put some aftermarket heads on it or get some ported heads from the mad porter (check out 460ford.com)

Pick up the correct towers from ebay or pick up new conversion ones from PAW or L&L.

Looks like you already have duraspark, so stick with that and you are good to go.
