C4 Tranny
Just got me a C4 tranny for my 67. It was recently rebuilt and came with a brand new torque converter. Paid 400 bucks for it good or bad deal? I am converting my 67 from 3 on the tree to an automatic. Got column, ford gear box, firewall mounting bracket and a brake "only" assembley in order to get rid of brake peadal. Anything I should know about when installing my C4 or missing??????

re: C4 Tranny
Price for the trans sounds good. You will also need a flexplate, kickdown linkage, cooler lines and a trans cooler if your rad doesn't have one in it. Hope this helps.

I think that's a darn good price!
Most places will also charge a "core" for not having one to turn in.
C-4's are dependable neat tranny's, (I still own three of them).
You can get lots of aftermarket performance clutches and shift kits for them too!

You might try to fab a bracket and install the cable so the trans end is in 1/2 loop to pull down on the kickdown lever.Just be careful not to make the loop too tight and bind the cable.rjewkes wrote:JD, i don't begin to know how to make a cable push instead of pull.
