Can this be done with out cutting out center hump? :?

i dont thinnk so . but have you looked at your hump to see if it will unbolt? you could get lucky.

Did they make a removable C6 hump? I thought they were all solid.

yes the c6 trucks had the hump also. it is the same hump they made for the floor shift four speeds but it had no holes cut in it. i have one out back that i need to put up for sale.

Yes it can be done. I have a 460 with c6 in my 71 F100. My F100 came stock with a 302 and 3 speed on the column. My center hump is the short one that is not removable. It does make it alot easier if the c6 you choose does not have the extra ribs running down the back side of the transmission.

Cdeal did your C6 have the ribs? Is it the older(FE)'s or newer 460 C6's that have the ribs?

My 65 had a swapped in c6 it is tight..... the front x-member had the be removed unless you go through the engine bay. One issue I had was the floor shifter. I did not want a "box" shifter which would have been no problem. I installed a unimatic and bearly had the room to do so.

I don't believe it has to do with the year of the tranny, but whether it's considered 'heavy-duty' or not. Here's a shot of my '70 HD C6:
