Guys,

I am redoing a 67 highboy with a Dana 44 up front. I know the front pinion seal is leaky, but I don't have the time/money to fix right now. It's worse because my driveway is a slight incline, so when I'm nose in, the fluid really shows up.
*Question* Any issues running 90W versus the 50W oil called out in the manual? I was hoping the thicker viscosity would slow the seepage.

Don't use 50 WT. Only use 90 WT in diffs and 4 speeds.

They call out 50WT for the NP435 trannies, but not the diffs. Diffs need 90WT or better.

It only takes a few minutes to change out the seal. Make sure to scotch brite the seal surface on the pinion yoke.

Thanks for the replies.
I left a piece of cardboard under the truck overnight. The fluid seems too thin (not fluid I put in) to be 90W. It's not discolored as if water got in....Maybe replacing the seal and changing the fluid is best.
