2 piece driveline questions

I have done a couple of these... and have never had this much difficulty with any before.
It took me nearly an hour just to drop the driveline.
The u-bolts were covered with crude that was like concrete.
I had to use a screwdriver and a punch to get the crude off before I could loosen the nuts... then the U-bolts would not budge...
I had to punch them out.
After I got it out... I fought with the getting the yoke off for a couple of hours...
Then broke both of the clips that hold in the yoke u-joint, and busted off the grease fitting...
Now the problems with getting the carrier bearing off...
I have replaced them before, and it just took smacking it a few times with a block of wood and a BFH to bust the carrier bearing loose, then it just slid right off...

Hey Spartman...

I've been in recovery for 12+ years...
A couple of shots might cause more trouble than it's worth...
But I do like the idea of going back to bed...
I'm really tired today and really didn't wanna get outta bed at all this morning...
I'm thinking since the carrier bearing is encased in rubber and mounted in the housing, that my little boo-boo with the grinder shouldn't affect anything.
I'm pretty sure I can get the belled parts straightened out pretty good... so I'm really not gonna worry about it.
Gonna clean the shaft up good with some emery cloth, then put a little white grease on the shaft, then use a piece of 2x4 and a 3 1/2 lb sledge to tap the bearing in place. That's what I've done before and not had any problems.

Good to hear you are dry.

As far as the beverage is concerned, pick a favorite. Be it Root Beer or Everclear.

Hope all goes good for ya.

If all else fails use the BFH and say it was broke anyway.

Hey Spartman...

Jack Daniels would be the favorite one for sure...
but I stick to O'Douls or Kaliber (NA version of Guiness draft my personal fav but hard to find).

Gonna go to the part house this evening after work and get the carrier bearing.
It will probably be Saturday before I get another chance to mess with it again.
