Hi all, I just found this thread.I'm hoping to make it but it depends on which weekend. If we decide on June then I have to make sure it doesn't interfere with the local festival. For 3 days every summer I become a french fry cook to help raise money for the fire department. :)

I just checked the site but the dates aren't posted yet.Last year it was the 14th thru 16th.I'll make a couple calls this week and find out this years dates.

My culinary skills mostly suck but I am good at making fries. When it gets busy I'll have 4 commercial fryers going at once.Festival is open 7 hours Thurday, the same for Friday and noon till midnight Saturday. In that time we prep, cut, fry and sell an average of 2000 lbs of potatoes every year.

Oh and about 30 half barrels of beer.

Unless the price of the beer itself goes up it'll likely stay the same. The local Bud distributor is a big sponser. They bring a truck with a reefer body that has awnings and taps on the sides.

It wouldn't matter if it did though as it's the one time each year the locals can drink beer in the middle of the street. As long as they behave the cops ignore them.

There is a reason Tarentum Festival is often refered to as The Drunk Fest.

We have a "drunk fest" near me too. One day of drinking in the street in Croton on Hudson. The bars have to go cups.

About 115 miles according to mapquest.com. I already have 2 trucks and a car, plus Mrs. Flatbedford's car.

I need my car for the 85 mile round trip to work in NYC. It's no easy getting a truck in and out of the big city.
EDIT
I just noticed you said Mrs. Flatbedford. We've been thinking of replacing the Subaru and the F250 with a crewcab F250 or F350. But it would be a Super Duty, not an older one.
