This past weekend we prep'd and painted the reaf leaf springs and axle, using black POR-15. It came out looking pretty good, and was a lot more fun than taking apart rusted stuff. We plan to paint most of the frame this week, and put the rear end back on the truck this weekend.
Here's some before and after pics of the rear end.

Looks much better! What was your prep process for the rusty metal before paint?

We used a combination of wire brushes and wheels, a small chisel with big hammer, some sandpaper and a light-weight sand blaster to remove the rust. Then we used POR-15's Marine Clean and Metal Ready solutions, as directed. We then applied two coats of POR-15, and an overcoat of Gloss Black.

yall are really moving on that thing. Let me know if you need any front end panels. I still have that long bed that I have decided I will part out. Plus, now you know how to get there.
