Production numbers for years/models?

Post by Fordfool »

I hunted the site for production numbers for the '67 to 72 ford pickups to no avail. Does anyone know where the production numbers with breakdowns of years and different models each year could be found? I would like to know specifically for my '70 ford crewcab, shortbed, 4 x 4....Still hunting in case I run across this and anyone else wants it. Thanks

Here you go:
http://www.fordification.com/data-1970.htm

You can click on the Top of the page where it syas:

VIN Data 1967-1968-1969-1970-1971-1972

and it will take you to each year.

The numbers posted on the VIN pages aren't really the production numbers, just number blocks assigned to each year at the beginning of the year. The actual production, from what I've found out, exceeds those numbers in many cases.

The only reference I have that shows actual production numbers is The Standard Catalog of Light-Duty Ford Trucks 1905-2002. While using this book for research purposes, I've noted quite a few discrepancies though, and some outright mistakes....and while it does show some production figures for various F100, F250 and F350 trucks, there is no mention made at all of any crewcab trucks production numbers on their own. I'm guessing they were just thrown into the general body style production numbers, which are as follows:

1970 F250
Chassis & Windshield - 131
Chassis & Cab - 6,366
Platform & Rack - 650
Platform - 130
Flareside pickup - 4,683
Styleside pickup - 121,265

It follows up with the following note: "No additional breakouts are available."
