Hey guys,
The subject says it all . Are there any differences in the frame of our trucks betwwen a f-250 and a F-350?
I'll be using ours to tow the 48 Power Wagon up too Cle Elum, WA. in september. The old Power Wagon weigh in at about 5700LBs and the trailer I'll be using an H&H tilt deck trailer that weighs about 2000LBS total weight will be 8000LBS gvw. We will be using our '70 f-250 (390 v-8 and c-6 automatic). We are adding a tranny cooler , 4-leaf Hellwig 3500 Lbs helper springs, class V receiver hitch with brake controller.
Is this going to over load our truck or will we even know it's back there?
Thanks guys,
Chris Becker

It will make her grunt a little going over the mountains but it should have ample power. Make sure you have good trailer brakes. I hauled my 96 F-150 supercab from Yakima to east Texas (2300 miles) with my 3/4 ton 390 4 speed 3.73 gears. Going up over the Rockys and down into Denver was an experience I do not want to duplicate.
The F-350s doe have a much heavier frame but keep in mind that the 67-72 F-350s were almost all duallys with the Dana 70 rear end. The only single wheel F-350s of this vintage I have seen were crewcabs and the ones I've seen still had a Dana 60 so they weren't much more than a beefed up F-250

Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

do the 67-72 dually F350's use the narrow frame like the 73-79 f350 duallies?

Yes, they do. All '67-'72 F100 thru F350 have the same frame spacing.
