Just bought second compressor....how do I hook it up?

Post by dablack00 »

Ok guys, I'm finally getting serious about my project car and trucks. I now have a blasting cabnet, a 5hp craftsman compressor, HVLP setup, and lots of air tools. I bought a second used 3.5hp compressor to up the CFMs of my system. Well, I'm moving in a couple of weeks and will build a nice new air system in my garage. How do I hook up my new used compressor? Will I need some one way valves? I know all about the piping I need and the drains and all that stuff. What I need to know about is hooking up two compressors to the same air system.

off topic...next purchases will be a MIG and a portable sandblaster (non-cabinet).

Barry

"Are you gonna make it all 220?"
"Yeah 220, 221, whatever it takes."

One thing that I find most in people's air systems is that they tend to put a filter right after the air tank. If you locate the filter there, it will do much less good, as the air is still warm when it reaches the filter and it is going to be holding lots of moisture yet. Take some pipe and go up and down the wall at least 40' and then install the filter. It can do it's job then.
