there is room for adjustment. had the same problem with a factory fender once. had to move everything until it fit better looks to only be 1/4-1/2" off.

my whiole front end was scewed to the driverside. the po had removed all the front sheet to rebuild the engine in the chasis then put it all back sloppily.
Nothing is bolted down at this point, so the core support and inner fenders can easily be moved with a firm shove. I can take a factory fender from a different truck and it literally falls into place.

ok then sounds like a milled off fender or perhaps the holes are in the wrong spot on the repops.

I hate it when people don't pay attention to detail.

Worked on the front cross member/spring hangers this week... had to take the fenders back off to get in there and measure. You know measure once cut twice

Looking very nice! Thumbs up on the nicely broken crossmember with some thought put into it! That's got to be the most visible part of a highboy's chassis and it's sad how many guys do poor work replacing it.

What are those? 8" superduty springs? They've got more arch than any 4" spring I've had.

Everything looks great but I'm just wondering when the springs are compressed won't the rear shackles keep rotating upward and just ride up against the frame instead of letting the whole mess flex rearward? looks like their just past the point where it'll rotate the wrong direction? Looks sweet though!!

Good eye... and that was one of my concerns, but acording to the spring manufacturer, the spring will grow 2" when loaded. Since I had to take his word (what else was I to do), I set it up so that the centerline pivot of the shackle will be vertical when loaded. We'll see if this works out as planned. As they are right now.... there is no binding or indication that they want to move in any other direction than rearward.

No, I'm getting rid of the d44.... I have a high pinion D60 sitting in the back of my Dodge right now that will go under her.

They were advertised as 12" springs, but I don't think that they are anywhere close to that. My guestimate is approximately 10" springs at best.

I had purchased them just for moke up purposes as I was intending to have custom leafs made..... but if these work, I'll just roll with it for now.

Just to make you feel better and to ansser others questions about the springs and shackles.

The Cyan Arc is the free spring and the Pink Arc is the arc that it can move through. If you put a force on the spring it will look like the Purple Arc and now move along the Red Arc. However, the shackle can only move along the Green Arc, so in order for the spring to expand the shackle has to rotate back.

Oh, and you are kicking ass on that thing. I REALY like the front hanger, looks 100% better than almost any one I have ever seen!
