seams finaly finished!(pic)

i finely finished welding up my bed seams and what trim holes i didn't want. those big horizontal seams above the bed bumps were a doozy, i did'nt think i'd ever get them done, used a whole small roll of wire.

Wow! I'll bet that took forever but will look great after a coat of paint. Let's see some close-up pics.

here's a closer pic.just a little more metal work to go and i'll be ready to start stripping paint.

Looks pretty good in the pics. What did you do to prevent warping it? Mine has some rust through in the crevice and I'm thinking about welding them solid. The end cap doesn't bother me, but that long horizontal run is gonna take forever.

no i didn't even use short beads, thats how i got the warpage i do have. instead i used spots with a little up and down motion to insure penetration on top and bottom of the seam, and just when you think you have alot done you realize (i've got to grind all this down!!!)

hope i didn't come off to smart sounding in my last post, sure didn't mean to if i did . i to thought at first could get away with short beads but when i tried i could feel a little warpage so i went to spots.

Yeah, I know 'how' to do it, just never have much luck with even short 1" beads on a very flat surface. I figured spots or maybe hitting it with compressed air from behind to keep it cool or using some plumber putty or something. We get canned air at work and I was thinking about flipping the can and using the liquid propellant as coolant (we use it to shrink shafts for bearing installs)

You just look at it and go 'this is gonna suck' and go do something else instead, like clean up the garage by shoving all the junk in the bed of the truck.

Yours td. Those rims are a mix of new school and old skool. I realy like them. A while back I bought 22" KMCrims for mine but decided to go a little smaller now.

THANK!! they are 20x10's out back and 20x8.5's up front. I waited 4 months to get them after i ordered them,i had the centers chromed and they had to special build the 5.5 bolt pattern. long 4 months to say the least!
