Have a transmission mounted NSS that has 2 nubs on the inside, I assume to slide into two grooves at the transmission so it moves with the linkage. My problem, (see picture)
is the shaft is smooth all the way around. I've come to two conclusions. The first is that I am doing something wrong like the NSS goes between the linkage and the case, or two: I need to get more parts.
HELP
The second picture is one I took last year of a truck in the local U-Pull-It yard, prior to me removing that NSS for my own project. However, I haven't gotten far enough along to get it configured...just thought maybe the pics might give you an idea or two.

That sleeve that you have should be notched. If it's not notched you may have a trans that does not use the trans mounted NSS. You need the correct linkage that goes with the year and application for your vehicle.
The C6 has the holes to mount the NSS, but no grooves on the sleeve. See as how the steering column as a mid-70's there is no place there to mount the column switch so from what I have been able to read so far it looks like I have to drop the pan to remove what I have and then hopefully find the right one at the junk yard and get it. Who knows, maybe I'll get lucky and find one that has the kickdown bar attached!
