i've spent most of the day (no, i've spent all of the day up to now) getting started on my custom gauge panel and its going good thus far. i worked my tail off making this thing. fixing to place my order with summit as soon as i make this post for my speedo,tach, fuel and amp gauges.Image

SOLD-71 F-350 dually flatbed, 302 / .030 over V-8 with a "baby"C-6, B & M truckshifter, Dana70/4.11 ratio, intermittent wipers, tilt steering, full LED lighting on the flat bed, and no stereo yet (this way I can hear the rattles to diagnose)! SOLD!

no i bought it on e-bay, actualy the chroming was done 13 years ago. thats what the seller told me anyway. he said he was in the process of restoring a bump and just quit and let all sit for a long time and then decided to sale it all as parts.

how do you plan to cut the panel out without messing up the outside chrome part? im going to be oding the same thing.

well im going to tape the outside areas to be trimmed and use nematic cut off wheel, and hope for the best :pray: .

Just drill a few small holes where you want to cut, mark the backside with a marker (old school - trace dot-to-dot) and do the major cutting from the backside. Use a dermel to do the finishing touches. Should be less likely to damage that nice chrome jub.

Sorry rjewkes, the chrome one's getting the axe please don't be mad at me :lol:!! AKF100, cutting from the backside will give me better access anyway. thanks for the idea's guys. ill post pics as soon as all my parts come in, they shipped today so i should have them by fri. ill mock it all up in the dash and take a pic before i pull it all apart for paint.

what are you speaking of when you say plug weld? im trimming the factory bezel for clearance for the autometer gauges. im going to secure the panel i fab up with screws.
