1969 Ford Rat rod / Street / Strip
I decided its was time to post up a project page to keep who ever is interested in keeping track updated.
This truck was mine back in 98, it had the same 390 (not quite as radical as now) and is pretty much the same truck. After being passed around to a few of my friends since then I finally got it back and am in the process of a complete rebuild.
I purchased another complete 69 for parts, I will be using the cab, inner fenders, and doors off the new truck. Everything else will be used from the existing truck.
I have decided on a flat black paint job (give it the rat roddish look), I also plan on a disc brake conversion, and some serious power under the hood. The 390 is bored 30 over, the heads are ported and polished, i am running a Comp Cam 33-250-4. Roller rockers, RPM intake, Holley Avenger 830cfm Carb., Holley black electric fuel pump, a fuel cell, MSD 6AL ignition box, and MSD Pro BIllet Distributor, headers, 4:10 gears in a 9" W/spool, TCI Super Street Fighter II torque Converter. (3,000 stall)
I will be mounting the fuel cell up under the rear with a fuel filler fabbed into the bed.
Any input, ideas, suggestions, let me know. It's all a work in progress.
WISH ME LUCK!

Great minds think alike! I love the idea! I'm planning on painting mine satin black too with red steelies and a lowered stance. It's going to be way low budget for now until I get my '56 going but I plan on a more extensive rebuild later on. Check out the 'bumptoon' Mugwump designed.
I'm not there yet but it won't be long!

I'd say so! I still need to lower the stance though.

Man that looks good, I was planning on painting mine flat black, what kind a paint did you use, did you use paint gun? looks really smooth also the wheels set it off, now just a little lower. Keep up the good work.

F100builder nice job. Like the flat black and red. Good looking truck. It'll look even better low. I want to see pics of it lowered.
