I bought it from a guy on craigslist in houston. When I bought it, there was so much gunk built up on it that you couldn't see the tag. I never saw the truck it came out of but the guy I bought it from was a fairly shady character that had a small used car lot in Pearland.

I did the stroke test came out to be something around 3-1/4". I know the 300 has a stroke of 4" so I assume I have a 240.

I'm not too concerned about it being a 240, it just irks me to find out I didn't get what I paid for.

Today, I kept workin on my tranny. Got it and the motor pulled, and removed it from the motor so far. I still need to change out the clutch whill I have it all apart.

I did figure out why the tranny blew. the seal on the slip yoke went out and drained all of my fluid. There was less than a cup still in it when I pulled the cover. Somehow the yoke bent on the output shaft and seems to be permenantly fused to it. It really easy to see upclose, but you might be able to tell in this pic that it yoke and the end of the tailhousing aren't square.

Also somehow in the whole ordeal, the tranny go stuch in both 1st and reverse causing very bad things to happen to the rest of it.

In short, its gone.

I figured I'd post something on here; I haven't in a while because I haven't had the internet. But I got it again today, so I feel I need to post something.

I haven't really done much to my truck except preventative maintenance lately, and its served as my daily driver for the last 4 months.

Its been rough and rocky travelin but I finally got my feet right on the ground. Been along time since I've been on here. Had a really, really bad spring followed by an incredible summer (Except of course for what you will read in a minute). Got real broke real fast then got a killer promotion, had to move and now live in the one place I never wanted to end up: an appartment. Ohh well was time for a change. Anyway, my truck is gone (catastophic engine failure 05/08), and I'm left with no truck, due to totaling my 90 the night befor Ike hit. Insurance money should be in any day last week, and hopefully I can get another one of these old trucks. Sorry for the book guys, but I guess this is an update on the progress of my truck, even if that progress led to me not owning it anymore.

Also, in case anyone is reading this, I can access all forum except General Discussion, which, upon entering, says the last post was made on Sept. 30th. From the board index, it says says the last post was made a few minutes ago, so I'm not really sure what is going on. I wanted to make this post there but couldn't.

 That sucks on the loss of your trucks... Hope you find a replacement soon, and the new job keeps working out.
Keith might have been working on the general section when you were there, if you still have issues send him a PM or let me know and I'll pass it along.

Good to see you back! :fr:

If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

Still having the problem the the general board. How do you send personal messages with the new layout? I haven't figured it all out yet.
