thats one of the coolest things about the swap, since its a ford tank from the same era the ohms are the same as your stock unit.

There is also a 22 gal version, 1970 Mustang I think. Same outside dimensions, just deeper.

there's a 20 for 68-69 stangs and your right the 22 is a 70 i have a couple links here on them. only thing is the extra capacity is made in the top half of the tank and you'd have to watch for bed clearance. i think the 20 gal. would work for sure and probably the 22 but clearance would be something to watch for.

the 20 gal.

Hey td looking good. Your "c" notch idea with the pipe is whats been rolling around in my little vaccum space of mind for a while. Just wondering how far you went in lowering proccess for the rear?Just the hanger inversion or a combination of things.

wt4speed,

along with the hanger flip i removed 1 leaf. when i bought the truck it had 4 leafs and the overload now it only has 3 and the overload.

i don't know the thickness of the material that the aftermarket bolt in c-notches are made out of but i was planing on using 3/16th to box in the inside of the frame after i cut the notch and welded in the pipe. as ive studied this closer ive noticed that the upper shock mount really needs to be moved out of the way to be able to box it in as far forward as i need to.
so now i'm wondering if you have to box the frame with the bolt-in notch :? , does anybody know if you have to? :? if not i may just spend the $ and get the bolt-in to keep from having to move my shock location.

anyway its all back together minus the c-notch until i figure the shock problem out. its now running off the new tank and its all working good. here's a before and after so you can see the improvment.

I went to the link that was posted above for the bolt ins above and clicked on related products for the early models(ie relating to our application)and it has a pdf link that gives brief installation procedures, no mention of boxing the frame there. You might check it out and read it your self in case i might have missed something. Tried to get it to post in this thread no dice.
