O/T Temporary distraction from BUMP

Post by My427stang »

Just picked up a nice little utility body truck, going to give it to my father, a semi-retired diesel mechanic in need of something to do some work out of.

Neat little truck, no rust, 302 EFI, OD, posi, dual tanks. Got it for 800 and had to put a 200 dollar windhsield in it

Needs a little work to be ready
- Clean the interior, put back what seems to be EVERY screw that is missing inside and fix a leaky strobe light mount
- Needs front springs and shocks, one spring is broken, functional, but I'll do it before we get it up there
- Radius arm bushings and repack the wheel bearings
- Add two leaves to the rear spring stack to get a little height back
- Clean, service, make sure the lights work, and general shake down before delivery.
- Replace and rekey some locks in the utility body

Its all little stuff, but the bump goes on the back burner until this one gets a bow on it and delivered 26 December :D

Sounds like your dad has a great son. Looks like a worthy distraction from the bump. Excellent find! :)

Well, he did "one or two" things for me over the years

Its no prize, as a former paving truck the interior is pretty ugly, but its clean and solid and with a little TLC, we should be able to deliver a very reliable little 1/2 ton.

Thanks, plus its a fun little distraction, but I sure need to get back on the bump quick!

Man, you could yank that ute bed off & throw on a regular bed & have a slick truck. The cab & front clip look mint!!
