No harm done at all. To me it just doesn't look right. That's why I haven't replaced mine yet. Until I find one that looks correct, I won't replace it.

Hey SideoilerFE,

I know what you mean--it looks odd.

But the grommet actually looks OK if I just pull the filler neck out an inch or two. I pushed it in a ways on purpose to get a fantastic seal around the grommet. When the neck's sticking out like it is supposed to, the rubber seal is a little loose--it would probably still work, but it's not super tight.
