I got a little done today i made a fuel pump block off(going electric) and took the intake and exhaust manifold off. I also pulled the valve cover and i was surprised on how clean it was no sludge at all. Here are some pics.
I got the steering box off today the pitman arm was stuck on there pretty good but i heated it up with my torch and it finally came off the new box from red head should be here this week. I started putting the new brake lines on and pulled the dist block off and gave it a good cleaning. I will pull the master cylinder off tomorrow and hopefully have the brakes finished.
I got my tranny back from being rebuilt, i have been painting all the little parts getting ready to put the motor back in. With the dream beams, when i let the air out of the front the beams hits the cross member before the beam hits the frame where the bumpstop was at so it doesnt go all the way down. I have been wanting to notch the cross member and today i went ahead since the motor was already out . I got almost 2 more inches of drop, I am plating around the beams with 1/4 inch plate to reinforce it. I got a few pieces cut and tacked in today hopefully get in finished and all welded up tomorrow.
Good choice on keeping the Inline 6 !!! I wish I had gone with the mini-starter. That'll be better than raising the engine and removing the headers to change the starter (don't ask how I know).
Keep up the good work!
