Wish my 67 got 18 highway. My 351w toploader combo drinks gasoline.

The best I have gotten is about 14 in my 68 Ranger. My 67s all get around 9-10 at best, with/without a load at any speed. Driving from Florida to NoCal and back in my 67 was a hoot. Gas stop every 180 miles or so.  :D

distance divided by gallons used. Let's say you went 100 miles after you filled the tank. Then you fill the tank up and found that it took 5 gallons. 100 miles divided by 5 gallons = 20 mpg. Yeah, don't I wish.

Thanks F.O.R.D. Couldn't remember that to save my life i bet highway i do between 15-18mpg and town 10-13mpg. funny though new f150 harley davidson Edition gets 18 highway with a 5.9 or 6.4 litre v-8 and 15 town. and it is suppossed to be better. Ha! just 100 times more expensive than my 72 Fully loaded Ranger Xlt f100. that brand new maybe cost 2500-3500. i pay for new one 45,000 stripped comparetivley. Ha!

You guys are so silly, puting a 1 in front of your mileage  . I will be honest here, I get a wopping 6 mpg. No one there. I think my 460 needs to go to rehab for its drinking problem. Although it is kinda my fault, I gave it a bigger glass  . Edelbrock 750.

Interesting. Because people were stealing your gas or the gas was evaporating or spilling out the hole or what?

Interested because my cap is very loose and gas is always running out.

18 MPG is outstanding. My 70 I had with the 240 got 15 and my 1st 69 with a 390 was averaging 10...downhill with a tailwind. This last 69 4x4 was 9-10 as well, but it was a rough runnning 390.

18 sounds almost unbeleivable. Good deal for you man.

DONT forget that the wrong speedometer cable on your trucks can distort the true odometer reading (miles driven). Or the gear in the axle was changed....jz

I just had my c4 trans rebuilt, and finally got a working speedometer on my 67. I had to replace the gear, and the cable. I drove 20 miles down the interstate 60 miles per hour Sunday, everyone drives 80 on the expressway so I have know idea how fast I was actually going. I was going to bring my stop watch and do the mile marker thing, but forgot the darn watch.
My Good Humor trucks has a 6 cyl and geared LOW so I am very happy with 60mph. I don’t care if I was doing 60 or 40 I still had a big old smile :D on my face watching people stare and wave at me going down the road. It was a good day........
