Why must everyone weld everything on.... getting ready to take off the rear bumper (all bent up) and put my old 95' hitch on and the bumper mounts were bolted and welded so had to grind them down to at least crack them when I hit the bumper with the sledge hammer . Then of course there is a bunch of angle iron holding a jerry rigged hitch under the bumper (welded to the frame) sawsall what I could off and started the die grinder to get the welds off by the frame... so needless to say didnt get the hitch mounted ....Will be getting a new bumper so will be curious if the stock 72 step brackets will work on the new one...?
old hitch mess...
new bumper (pick up shortly)

We used to weld them on because they always worked loose when you towed a trailer.
Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.

Also why I prefer a tube hitch for towing.

Getting all the welds smoothed out, will fill the voids with the welder and smooth again ...

picked up some new silicone vaccum line (ford blue ) for my EFI 460. The old plastic is all brittle just bend it alittle and breaks all apart....
