I hope so, but it has taken me a while to get to this point. Frame chop was done back in March and the bed cut in Aug. I was able to make a nice progress over the holidays.AK F100 wrote:Looks great man. Keep it up and you'll have her done in no time.

Re: 72 F100 project, long bed to short bed conversion
Yeah, now I've got an extra bed. The old one is up against the wall in my garage and since I need the space will have to sell it. My first thought was to cut it up and use it to repair the other one but decided against doing that. Anyone need a "long" short bed?

Hey,
I've seen that bed and drivers door before.
Work looks great. I'm glad you could use the parts.

Yep, but now that I got it together I'm thinking of taking it apart to work on the suspension.dablack00 wrote:Hey,

That is the way it goes on these things. You look at one thing and want to fix it. You fix it and then another thing really sticks out at you. Then you think, "hey, these things are pretty easy to take apart and put back together, I do that too." Next thing you know you have a bare frame sitting in the driveway.

I may have goofed on mine I cut out 17 inches based on bed dimensions I found here at Fordification.com, I guess I'll be stuck with cutting my long bed down.

Re: 72 F100 project, long bed to short bed conversion
So just add another update, I removed and cut out all the ibeam suspension. Original plan was to go mustang II but I'm most likely going to do a crown vic swap

looks good! I am looking at doing the CV suspension as well. How do you know where to locate the lower rear mount?
