my 71's Progress

Post by sport71 »

Motor and trans on frame today so much work and so little time...

Even though it's a mini starter, the headders will need to come off. For those of you
that plan on putting on some headders it's a very tight fit. I'm just glad that I found that out
before the truck was all put together...

If I were you, I would still put a heat shield on that starter... As accessable as it is, now is the perfect time.

I don't think you can ever keep a starter 'too cool'

Looks very nice!

So are you not going to run headers? Going to do stock manifords instead or try to find a different set of headers?

I'm keeping them, and adding 3" stainless steel tube with the 50 modle flowmasters.. I will put some heat shield between header and the starter. It was an expencive starter, I hope that it will last me a good while.

I just orderd the seat cover from NPD, the prices have gone up and are not what are on the computer catalog or the catalog that has the black and red truck on the front. Oh well I still need it so I paid the extra $30. I got black with the black cloth inlays and I have the trim pieces that go in seat I just hope that I made a good buy. I'll post pics next week of the progress I hope that you all like the pics I've been posting. I would also like to take this time to thank God for all He is, and all He does for each of us.
Thank You Father...

Pics of my 71's Progress(What's new)

Post by sport71 »

Today me and Ruben Eli (Ruboner), my son put down some dynomat stuff. Let me tell you it was a HOT day. I got the Fatmat deadener on Evil-bay, cheep. Ruben asked me what was this stuff for, so I knocked around the cab and showed him that it sounded like a empty can. Well when we finished about 2 hrs. later I started knocking around again. It was a solid knock, no echo or vibration. I will highly recomend this stuff you must see and hear for your self I was amazed. :D
I just got all four rims Saturday they are the same as the ones it has only new. I also ordered some Mickey Thompson Sportman tires 295-50-15 for the rear, and 225-70-15 for the front...

Thats awesome your son is interested in helping. My boy is only 3 1/2 and hopefully he has the interest to. He already likes to help me now so things are looking good.

There's a true sport! Make his truck look bad to save yours! They'll look great. I liked the ones you had in the pics too.
