Re: 72 body swap
If the rust is not too deep, then a hone will work. Just be sure and check the top 1/4 to 1/2 inch cylinder wall to be sure there is not a bad ridge from ring wear. If there is just use a ridge reamer on the block first to get the cylinder sides level.

Re: 72 body swap
well i got the 72 down here today it is just as i remembered it virtually rust free so that is the upside of my day. spent the rest of my day trying to get the rust off of the cylinder walls. slow work but it seems to be working. will post pictures of the 72 when i can find my camera again

Re: 72 body swap
well the 360 is shot so i picked up a 351 for $20 and was wondering what it will take to put on the 78 frame, am i going to need new mounts or not. will the transmission work or will i need to replace that one as well?

Re: 72 body swap
depends on what is or was in the 78. If it was a small block 302-351 it should slide right in. if it was a big block you'll need to swap out the mounts on the frame to small block.
Man i need to find a deal like that on a 351W.
