That's gonna look cool. Hope you good luck getting it put together. Are you gonna lower it or anything?

No, I'm not going to lower it. I think lowered trucks look great but I want this truck to be a head scratcher. I want it to look 99% stock. I want it to look like something ford built but didn't. So, stock interior, stock suspension, stock everything.

Still sounds cool as can be. I say add the later model wheels. Maybe the steel spoked wheels with the beauty rings from an F150 in the 80s or 90s. It'd still appear stock, but it'd be cooler than dog dishes. I like your ideas though. Lots of people will definately be thrown for a loop. Some would actually buy the idea that it was a special order high dollar ride? Nice!

So I will have a 2wd, 1978 full size bronco that ford never built.
I'm bringin home the tub and all the parts this weekend.
I will have pics as soon as I can.
NOTE: I have changed this thread because 68 sheet metal won't bolt onto a bronco cab.

Why did you have to start this thread, now you are making me want another 78-79 2wd .I did a 79 Bronco back in the mid 90's,what I did was remove (ground the welds) the front crossmember from a wrecked 78 F150, it was easy to do,hardest thing was measuring and remeasuring the crossmember placement, but it worked out great, and it will start plenty of arguments, people cant believe Ford never mass produced 2wd Bronco's,I will try and dig up some pics for ya,good luck with it.

If you change your mind here is how it could look.dablack00 wrote:No, I'm not going to lower it. I think lowered trucks look great but I want this truck to be a head scratcher. True, that looks very cool, but I want it to look stock.
Since I'm posting anyway, I will give a little update. The 77 F150 I bought as a parts truck is running better than ever. I tuned up the 2150 carb and set the timing better. The PO didn't know what he was doing. Now the truck idles smooth and drives great. I also, replaced the rag joint and found that the steering box was not tight the frame. Some of the bolts holding it on were more than five turns loose. Now the 77 drives great! The 77's front frame, drivetrain, and suspension will be going on the bronco so I'm very pleased with how well it is driving.

Thats pretty kool. I always wanted to do that to a late 60's early 70's Bronco but with a Mustang II front clip.
