71f100and dodgemagnum,
NPD's got them in their catalog Page-176.
I believe that DC has them also, (but be prepared to wait on the part from them).

Re: Heater Controls
good used controls are easy to find. calling them junky isnt what i would do.

Re: Heater Controls
Ditto that, I wouldn't buy a questionable repro when good ones are out there for a song. The cables go bad and the chrome pits on the bezel and knobs, all of which are replacable.

Man, mine is too. But you can find em easy. I live in a big city, it's usually hard to find those. But ive found about 2 in 4months.

Re: Heater Controls
I'm going to have to work on my heater controls/cables too. In the past on other Fords with Bowden cables, that's what they are called don't ask me how I know or remember I just heard or read it sometime, I spray PB Blaster down through them while they're out. Let it sit a day, work it back and forth, and repeat until they move freely. You'll see rust run out of the housing, that means you are doing something right. tnbumper71f100anddodgemagnum wrote:

Re: Heater Controls
i have never seen controls that were bad. only stuck cabels and soemone pushed or pulled so hard they bent or broke the control knobs off of them.

Re: Heater Controls
The "Off, Heat, Defrost" lever broke on mine and it was an easy TIG welding repair. I built up extra metal where it broke so now it's stronger than new. I don't know how much welders charge but, once the unit is removed from the truck, it's only a few minute job . If you can't find someone and it's worth the postage both ways to you, I'll weld it for you. Just send me a PM.
(I'm assuming it broke behind the bazel where a weld wouldn't be seen.)
