Just found these inserts. I think the "Diesel Special" will be a good addition to my project.I am swapping a 7.3 into my '72 crewcab.

71cc, I have the prototypes :)

No real update on the truck, it's waiting patiently, the boat is running, needs a bunch of hours work to finish it off, then some other stuff and finally the truck.

Because the 2wd frame puts the steering box under the drivers exhaust manifold which limits how low the motor / tranny can sit. cab was hitting the tranny at the bell.

Ok, been just about forever since I worked on the old girl, she's sitting outside with the engine in, with a rubber trap over it and the side glass out of the doors. Beds on waiting for paint. Tomorrow I want to get the hood and front clip bits into the garage to start painting them. I found a '70 F350 camper special with 64k miles with a very nice set of inner fenders and heavy duty cooling core cupport so those parts are going into my F250.

I need to get this truck finished before I lose all the parts to it so here we go.

Some pics of how the truck has spent the last year...

Well, yesterday I brought the hood and other colorful front end bits into the garage with the best of intentions of stripping the paint and getting them primed, however once I figured out that all the trim nuts were frozen to the studs I sprayed them down and moved on to finally getting the duct work onto my oil fired hot air furnace. I didn't have any 18x18" duct so I redid some 12x24" premade stuff, added a lid and put some 7" flanges on so I'll have a good bit of pressure coming out of the lines so maybe it'll blow heat to the floor. It actually worked out pretty well once I hooked the duct up.

Is the truck still waiting patiently? It's turning into a long winter here.

You should introduce yourself over at the welcome mat, and tell us more about that '67.

So if it was a 4x4 it would be a good fit without a body lift?
My crew 4x4 is wanting a 7.3 I have just picked up another one by accident
looking forward to seeing more here

I think the 4x4 would be a better fit if you can get the steering shaft around the manifold. Today the blue truck is going down to a friend farm to sit while I get the '70 worked out, then the blue one is coming back and all the driveline stuff is going into the 70 along with the cab and the rest will get parted or scrapped.

Noooo don't put it out to pasture!

Just kidding. Got to admit I haven't read all 10 or 11 pages of this thread, but will read it through in the future as I think this is awesome. Great project and you do some excellent work. I'd love to see the finished project.

Well, it's at the farm, engine is well covered. Out back looks better with the '70 anyways. I was able to put both boats out back as well, one to sell and the other to get ready for the water.

I can't wait for summer.
