CD player in a ’67-’72 Ford Truck
You can install a CD player into your truck's slanted dash by using a Metra DIN radio installation kit #99-9222 for a '75-'93 Volvo. Flip the mounting piece upside down and attach it to the bent-back ears in your dash, which will allow the stereo to sit perfectly horizontal in the dash opening. ...

Been working on the CNC'd aluminum version the last couple weeks, some teasers;
Tool profile for the Y axis. Using a 1/4" ball mill I need to break up the Z depth moves to around .020" to get a smooth cut and the program I use doesn't do ball mills very well so I need to do input the info manually, a thousand lines of code or so.
Only real issues I'm having is with the trim ring on it's going to be tight keeping the overall width the same as the original. I want to have at least 1/8" of coverage over the dash but doubt I'll get much more than that. I've gotten the side walls down to about .080" thick. I'm still playing with the sizes and fit before making tool paths and cutting metal.
Of course these are some rough drawings to help figure out the sizes. Even the bevel on the outside edges is different top to sides to bottom.

Ranchero50 has the right idea! Bet you will sell allot of those.
I mounted mine recessed into the dash instead of using the plastic kit. On the plus side, you'd have to disassemble allot of the dash before you could steal it. The radio mounting is very solid.
All I did was to fabricate an aluminum bracket with a stud sticking thru it and attached it to the side of the radio. Bend the factory radio ears back, and put the studs thru the ears, tighten it up.
You do however have to cut the factory radio bezel to fit the DIN radio face. I could have done a better job, as I cut too much off the top of the bezel, so there is a gap. Next time I will do better. The bezel then just mounts as normal, put the face on the radio and it looks pretty good. I like that you get to keep the chrome trim on the dash. The only thing to look out for is keeping all the radio wiring away from the wiper arm mechanisms on the fire wall.
Anyway, here's a pic of what I did...

That's funny, that's pretty much the way I did a mount for my ski boat, made a platform for the player to sit on with ears to screw it into. As you nitoced on the factory radio bezel it's too narrow for the CD players trim bezel. Mine will have room for it if things work out.
Guess it depends on the radio. The pioneer bezel was permanently mounted to the radio, and it fit. But I know what your talking about, some radios have trim rings with larger requirements. Technically, the stock ford bezel would be the trim ring for the radio though....
Say, is the aluminum piece your making actually mount the radio, or is it going to be just a face plate? Your stuff looks to be top quality and I'd be interested.

It'll mount the radio using the lower lip and the OEM screws (if everything ends up right) for the bezel and the CD players slide in housing with the bendy tabs. I had though about welding wings on but don't expect all manufacturers to use the same holes to mount the sides. I'm still in the design phase and it's changed a bunch of times. I want the trim ring to fit as well and that's made everything shift around a bit. Once I figure out the form I'll print a couple out and trial fit them in the original hole of the '70 F350 I bought last week and use it as a test mule. I have a Pioneer made in 2004 to use as a test player.
The more I think about putting a good radio in my truck the more I want to do it.
Someone should start buying up the Metra kits before they stop production. They aint makin' anymore '75-'93 Volvo's ya know.

What the previous owner did with my truck is he bent the ears in I guess thats what they are called. So if I ever want to put a stock radio in I just got to bend them back out and do a little bit of straightening. I got a ok clarion in there but I had to run all the wires myself the cool thing is my dad was an Auto Electrician at a Local Audio shop for 30+ years and he helped out.

one nice thing if you are going to be making the bezel to use the sleeve that comes on the cd player. is that all sleeves have the same diameter for the single din units. i use to work as a radio installer for circuit city before they went out of business and when we had to move the radios around that were on display we just pulled the radio from the sleeve and put it in the new location
