Re: 70 F100 4spd Swap UPDATE 11/07

Post by FordTruck »

As of late last night the 4spd and motor are in. It took alot of doin to ge that 4spd right first it took 3 clutches to find the right one and had to loosten up the front cab mounts and raise up the cab. Some of them guys at O'Reilly's don't know there a$$ from a hole in the ground, but the one that fit was one I looked up in the book. Today after school I'm gonna put my motor mounts on and bolt the tranny down and change pedal, and make a z-bar bracket. I'll have pictures of it put up after school.

The 4spd is home to stay. All I need is a clutch rod,and zbar mount on the motor that I think I'm gonna order from LMC.

I love this sight

Still need to get the front clip all bolted on

Also thinking about making my 72 grille where it'll fit my 70 grille inserts also got a new front bumper and still gotta find a valance panel.

Done a little more. Decided come spring to put my 72CS springs under it to make it set up and probably some 31'' tires. Also once I start school again I'm gonna make a front bumper to match my rear one and to replace my chrome one and also take up space where the valance panel went. Almost got it ready to fire up I ordered a clutch rod and z-bar bracket from DC.

Image

Probably the best I've ever seen the body lines and gaps line up.

Image

Trying to talk myself out of the idea of some old big rig stacks but I think it'll look really BA with the CS suspension, custom front bumper and 31's.

Image

My new front turn signals I think they look pretty BA but I wish they'd also light up with the head lights.

More when I get it fired up!!

No real update since its been in the single to below 0 temps and my internets out. After trying one more starter it turns out I've got a car flywheel so after all that work is gotta come back apart and I've got to buy another clutch and flywheel. If i don't bale out on the project first I'll hopefully have some updates when it warms up.

Hang in there man. Conversion projects usually aren't easy. I'm gathering parts for my next update project. Yee Haw.

Well I got the F600 cluster in but not wired up yet. Sometime soon I've probably got a $400 check coming to me from snow plowing. Once I get that I can buy my flywheel from Rockauto and get that all put back together and then I'm planning on sound deadoning the cab and if I can figure out a way I want to move my gas tank out of the cab and use my 72 CS under the bed tank but I don't know how to do it without cutting up my bed. If I do that I'm gonna put a fairly nice stero in it with some subs but nothing too crazy.

Heres my F600 cluster

Yinz guys need a deal like I found.

A part time job in a scrap yard. :D

Some extra coins, lots of cool toys to work/play with and one heck of a discount on parts.
