After a 300 point turn, i got the truck turned around and took some pictures. She's sweet with a working carb. I also fixed the front lettering.

Looking good!

Did it get in a fight? I noticed two black eyes.

you should see what it did to the other truck! lol.

The rag joint was also replaced today and the steerling play is down to a minimum. is there a way to tighten up the steering box? i still have 1/8 to a 1/4 of a turn of wiggle.

thanks jz. i was lucky enough to find one in halfway decent shape. i'm a fan of you truck also. it's Manuel steering though. i was wondering if there was an adjustment that could get rid of a little slack in the steering box.

That link I gave you should tell you how to go about adjusting the man. steering box.
Main point is the steering box needs to be disconnected from the steering column, and use a torque wrench.
It highly possible you need a rebuilt box.

passed 200 miles of daily around town driving today and i have yet to have a problem. i also took the truck out for a spin about 30 miles on the freeway. Other than being a little sluggish to 65 it was a blast.

Glad you like your truck. IMO the Stepsides are the best of the bumpsides. Sky's the limit as to what you can do with them, they are a blast to ride in.
Everyone wants it wherever you go. You will get tons of "nice truck" comments. Drive the hell out of it. :D

Killa - this is my fav project. I love how you guys just jumped right in and started turning wrenches. You didn't let anything slow you down. You had a plan, but it was flexible enough that you could change as things changed.

I love the truck. Looks like you fixed what needed fixin and gave her a good polishin'. I love that the truck isn't perfect and she shows signs of being 43 years old. But he's on the road and doing her things. That's great!

Thanks for heling inspire me to get my girl back on the road asap!
